Fashion Quotes on The Corner- Fashion vs. Style
Do you showcase fashion or your personal style? My style depicts my interpetation of fashion. I’m my only competition!
Women’s Fashion on The Corner- Chunky Knits, Riding Pants, and Over the Knee Boots
Is it cold in NYC? I didn’t notice with this big chunky knit sweater from H&M. I had this beauty, which is in my fav color since last year. I never got the chance to wear it.
Paired with black riding pants and over the knee flat boots (over the knee for average height people, regular knee boots for me) it was perfect and comfy.
How are you dressing to tackle the weather? Let me see.
Fashion on The Corner- Quote!
Bottom line. Preach!
As you were!
Women’s Fashion on The Corner- Its Fall. Layers, Legs, and Dark Lips!
Its fall or maybe winter or then spring. I don’t know anymore with NYC weather. What I do know is, you don’t have to walk around looking as crazy as the weather. Layer some pieces to stay warm while being oh so chic.
Fashion News on The Corner- Conde Nast Pulls Internship Program Starting 1014
Can you believe it? Conde Nast, the media conglomerate will no longer have an internship program. I never thought the fashion world much less a fashion glossy could survive without the use of interns. I mean who will organize the accessories closet and make Starbucks runs?
In light of interns suing for wages, Conde Nast got rid of the program altogether. The question here however is, is this a good or bad thing? Let’s face it, the top mags reserved their internship positions for the teenage children of their rich friends who needed to learn some responsibility or they showed an interest in fashion. Either way, the average person couldn’t snag one of these positions. But what about the students who really appreciated their experiences at these places? Or who actually got jobs from their internships or made life changing networking connections?
The bigger question is when did interns think they were supposed to be treated as equal employees? I mean did they not know they signed up to gain “experience” and share their ideas while watching someone with a pay check take credit for it? When did this whole deal change course?
I would love to know how the mags would survive. I mean who will check in endless pieces of clothing, who will make runs around town returning said clothing to designers, who will make the emergency trip to get nude thongs for the model who forgot to bring a pair, who will tape the bottom of the shoes before the photoshoots, and most importantly, once again who will run to Starbucks?
I think this will hurt the up and coming fashion community who yearn to meet top editors and maybe rub shoulders with or get a glass of water for top designers.
But who am I to project what will come of this? I don’t know my tumblr fam, what say you? Should they eliminate the program or streamline their practices?
Women’s Fashion on The Corner- Denim on Denim with Crisp White Chucks
I came out for a little Sunday fun. I hung out with the kiddies and got wild at Bounce U in BK. Awesome place.
Kept it extremely casual but with a statement necklace and a bold lip to class it up.
How do you dress down? I’d love to see.
Women’s Fashion on The Corner- Zara Denim Swing Dress
Hello Loves! It seems like fall has finally decided to arrive in NYC. I pulled a few things out of the closet that have a heavier fabric. I’ve had this dress for a long time. Its probably close to 10 years old. I love how the thick, heavy denim was cut and tailored. The close fit of the bodice and the swing at the bottom has made it a go to piece for me over the years.
Since I’m one of the lucky people that gain weight mostly on my bottom half, this dress has been ale to fit whether I go up or down. Paired with my fav hunter green snakeskin Cesare Paciotti pumps, a jeweled necklace and some enamel bracelets, I was classy and simple yet chic. On my Whitley Gilbert from A Different World. lol. I’m feeling skirts and girly pieces these days. Let’s see where this goes.
What looks are you all going for this fall? Do tell.
