Fashion on The Corner- Easing Into Spring So a few weeks ago the ground hog came out of the hole and said there will be an early spring. I guess that’s what happened. I really don’t understand the whole groundhog situation but anything that even hints at this winter being over is alright in my book. So since spring or spring like weather will arrive in about four weeks, I say we welcome it by incorporating a few bright pieces to our looks.  In September, the spring/summer 2013 runway shows had large amounts of eye popping color. Everything from light pastel hues to bold neons floated down the catwalk. While the temps are still frigid here in NYC one might not feel the need to add color to their everyday wear. I suggest starting small and easing into springish outfits.  The collage above shows a few pieces I think would be perfect to rock now before flowers start to bloom and temps reach the 60s and 70s. Try adding color with a pair of earrings, a new nail polish, a cocktail ring, stackable bangles or place a bright short skirt over your opague tights. Either way you go, you’ll look great and at the very least brighten the mood in the office.   Let me know how you all are preparing for spring. I know I can’t wait. xo Brandis

Fashion on The Corner - Tall Girls in Heels So I overheard and read recently that tall girls (5’9 and above I consider tall) shouldn’t wear heels. Or more shockingly, some tall girls refuse to wear heels because they feel awkward. I’m completely flabbergasted. Like where did these notions come from? They need to stop right now at this instant. I’m a tall girl and I absolutely adore it. So much so that you rarely see me in anything lower than 4inches. In fact my whole shoe arsenal goes from about three pairs of flats to all 4inches and above. I only purchased flats when I was pregnant. The shoes in the pic above are 5 inches with a platform. They’re Cesare Paciotti and my favorite pair. I stand about 6’3” in them and I wish a motherlover would tell me I’m already tall so I shouldn’t wear heels. That’s bout the dumbest shit I ever heard. There’s nothing like a tall confident woman strutting in high heels. Embrace your height. Its a gift not a burden.  xo Brandis
